The original was an oil on canvas, one of a series of three paintings on the Flint River that Seibels first published in 1995 while working with Ed to bring back to life some of his greatest paintings. With permission from the family, we are reproducing these as fine art giclée prints. In a career spanning over 40 years, Monroe painted over 120 magazine covers and countless illustrations, including works for Time, Life, True, Collier’s, The Progressive Farmer and of course, Field and Stream. Among them were historic illustrations for “Of Mice and Men” and “Old Yeller” when they were first published.
